A clear morning can become a cool, windy afternoon, and exposed beaches behave differently from a garden, laneway or home. Check the actual session hour, ask how late a weather decision can be made and confirm whether the photographer has an in-home or rescheduling option.
In cooler months, golden light can arrive early enough to suit young children. In summer, a later sunset may conflict with dinner and bedtime, so open shade or a morning session can be the more practical choice.
